| Kelly & Mie: |
Kelly was born and bred in the Bay of Islands and learned to dive around the same time as he learned to walk.
He did a ten year stint in Japan where he worked as an English Teacher and Dive Instructor, and where he was lucky enough to meet Mie who is from Kobe City.
Together they returned to NZ in late 2003 and opened Dive HQ Bay of Islands in October 2004.
They both love their diving as well as being pretty fanatical surfers.
Kelly was once described by a friend in Japan as “always having fun – in and out of the water” and that has become their motto.
Service is of a very high standard in Japan, and Kelly & Mie have brought this attitude to Dive HQ Bay of Islands.
Leia & Nyena are pretty keen to continue the family tradition.

| Troy: |
Our resident tertiary instructor, Troy Kingi, joined the team in June 2008, after completing our Diploma in Professional SCUBA Instruction. Outside of his love for naturalist & multilevel diving, Troy has a burning desire to conquer the New Zealand music industry. His debut EP 'Midnight in the Abyss' is out on the 7th of June.

| Roy: |
Roy is an MSDT and EFR instructor. A new addition to the Dive HQ team, Roy has 3 years teaching experience in Europe and Africa, and he’s already making an impact. Roy has only been in the New Zealand for 5 months, he’s keen on trying new things. His new venture in free diving got him down passed the 6m mark (you have to start somewhere!) and he will soon start technical diving training in the winter. Diving in the summer, snow boarding in the winter - it looks like he’ll be hanging around for a while. “You win some, you lose some!” is Roy's catch phrase.

| Jess: |
Jess is a born-and-bred South Islander. She grew up in Picton, where her love of the ocean and its inhabitants began. She now calls the Bay of Islands home, and she has been here almost long enough to be considered a local! Jess came to us in style, offering her happy-go-lucky spirit. Having a laugh is Jess' number one specialty. She loves dirt bikes, and is working really hard to get another one - watch this space for the pictures of a world first - a triple back flip while wearing a full scuba set! On her days off, Jess can often be found diving for Cray's, or chilling out in the hearty sunny rays of the Bay of Islands. Jess is a PADI Specialty Instructor & a Medic First Aid Instructor.
